Find My Friends (also known as "Find Friends" on the SpringBoard) is an application and service for iOS developed by Apple Inc.The app is used to locate friends that have an Apple device using GPS. It was released on October 12, 2011 to the general public. As of the release of iOS 9, the app is now bundled with the operating system. If a user is running iOS 8, the app is available for download from the App Store free of charge.

Features
With Find My Friends, users can follow and track people with their iOS device(s). Users can also share their location with the people they choose. Location is determined using GPS in the iOS device when Location Services are turned on. Modified software can allow notifications appear to when a user requests another user to see where they are or is turned on through the message application. It can also be accepted through Facebook sharing options. The feature can be turned on and off at any time. Like many iOS applications that use Location Services, parental controls are available. Find My Friends synchronizes with other applications such as Maps and Contacts. The application is supported on the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. A friend's location can be viewed in OS X 10.10 as well, by clicking "Details" in the top right corner of the Messages App.
